RAS AL KHAIMAH, December 1, 2016
Passengers at Ras Al Khaimah can now choose to skip the long passport control queues and check-in within five minutes with the new 'Smart Travel' system, said a report.
According to a report in Gulf News, the new system allows passengers to self-check-in and complete immigration and security procedures, interacting only with innovative technology.
This system consists of self-check-in and baggage drop facilities, automated passport control gates equipped with biometric verification functions and facial recognition technology, along with smart boarding gates.
While self-check-in takes five minutes, the registration process to the boarding pass collection can be completed in 20 seconds.
Brigadier Sultan Al Nuaimi, General Director of Ras Al Khaimah Residency and Foreigners Affairs, said: “The Ras Al Khaimah Police and Residency Department are keen on providing better security services to win customers’ satisfaction and bring happiness to them.”
