Pink October at Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts

ABU DHABI, September 21, 2016

Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts in Abu Dhabi turn pink in order to raise breast cancer awareness. On October 21 and 22, the resorts participate in Pink October by donating Dh25 ($6.8) from each island activity to charity.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual health campaign initiated by major breast cancer charities worldwide, aiming to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its symptoms, detection, treatment and cure. Additionally, the campaign provides advice and support to anybody affected by breast cancer. This October, people all over the world get together to fight for a cure for the 31st time. While throughout the years a pink ribbon has become the symbol for breast cancer and while Breast Cancer Awareness Month is now commonly known as Pink October, a variety of events around the world are held throughout the month, including walks, runs, and the pink illumination of building facades.

In order to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts turn pink on October 21 and 22 and donate Dh25 from every island activity to charity. As archery targets and activity cars are decorated in pink and guests have the opportunity to indulge in “pink” spa treatments, all funds raised will be donated to a local breast cancer support group. Guests can also show their support by purchasing pink crystal-embellished pins for Dh10 ($2.7).

Anantara’s support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month is one fundamental part of a series of CSR initiatives on Sir Bani Yas Island. While nature conservation plays a very important role in the everyday life of the island and animal preservation is of highest priority, giving back to the local community is equally important. Social events such as “Run for a smile” supporting an international children’s medical charity in June 2016, or the upcoming support during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month “Movemeber” repeatedly show that social responsibility for Anantara is paramount.

To support Anantara’s journey against breast cancer and to participate in pink October, enjoy a stay at Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts, with rates starting from Dh1,190* including breakfast for two persons at The Palm Restaurant.

Sir Bani Yas Island offers a range of activities for guests to enjoy, from exploring the Arabian Wildlife Park and perfecting archery skills, to kayaking the mangroves and mountain biking the rocky terrain. Activity rates start from Dh125 ($34) for adults and Dh65 ($17.6) for children. - TradeArabia News Service
