Air Arabia...expanding its European network
Air Arabia adds Sarajevo to destination network
SHARJAH, February 14, 2016
Air Arabia, a leading low cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, has added another European destination to its route network with direct flights between Sharjah and Sarajevo next to be launched on March 18.
Sarajevo is the capital city of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is home to more than half a million people. The historic city, which was influenced by the Roman, Byzantine, Venetian, Ottoman, and Austro-Hungarian empires, is a popular tourism destination throughout the year.
The city centre boasts a wide array of attractions, shops, restaurants and cafes, while the hills and mountains which surround Sarajevo offer a range of recreational and sporting activities, including a well-developed skiing industry.
Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said: "Following 12 months of significant expansion, Air Arabia is delighted to begin 2016 with the launch of a new European service. Sarajevo is a great all-year-round destination and we anticipate very healthy demand for the service when it launches in March."
Flights will operate on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, departing Sharjah International Airport at 08.15 am and arriving at Sarajevo International Airport at 12:20 pm. Return flights will leave Sarajevo International Airport at 13:10 pm and will land in the Sharjah International Airport at 20:35 pm.
Air Arabia added 23 routes to its network in 2015, including becoming the first low-cost airline from the Middle East and Africa to enter the Chinese market with the launch of regular non-stop services to Urumqi, the largest city in Western China.
Sarajevo joins an array of Eastern European destinations served directly from Air Arabia's hub in Sharjah. The carrier also serves a range of cities in Western and Southern Europe through its Air Arabia Maroc operation based in Casablanca. – TradeArabia News Service
