Malaysia's Gaya Island offers exclusive diving experience

DUBAI, February 4, 2016

Gaya Island, an underwater haven of vibrant marine life diversity in Malaysia's Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, is offering guests an exclusive diving experience into the clear water of Borneo.

The park is located off the coast of Kota Kinabalu in Borneo and covers an area of 4,929 hectares with as many as 49 diving sites.

It is home to sea turtles, clown fish, marbled stingray, giant groupers, coral fish, bamboo sharks, titan trigger fish, whale sharks and barracudas.

The PADI Certified Dive Centre allows divers of all skill levels to experience the underwater realm of the big blue sea, from beginner right up to the experienced diver.

The dive packages are on offer at two luxurious resorts on Gaya Island - Bunga Raya Island Resort and Gayana Eco Resort.

These are five-star all-villa resorts, either terraced into tropical hillside or perched on stilts over the clear waters of the South China Sea.

For non-dive partners, they have the option of various spa treatments instead of dives.

A dive stay for three nights for two persons includes return trip boat transfer, daily breakfast, one dinner, one house reef dive, two boat dives, usage of all non-motorised water sport equipment, tour of Marine Ecology Research Centre and government tax, service charge and terminal fee. A proof of dive certificate is required.
