Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, a five-star hotel in Dubai, has appointed two new executives to its management team.
Amanda Phipps, an experienced HR innovator and strategist, is the new director of human resources and Andreas Strim joins as executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage (F&B).
A qualified fellow with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD), Phipps has worked in several large, multi-site organisations delivering resourcing, recruitment, employee relations, occupational health and safety, and policy development solutions to meet organisational needs.
Starting her career with the Northumbria Police in the UK in 1998, Phipps provided HR services and advice to improve organisational performance in line with business objectives.
In 2007, she joined Gloucestershire Constabulary, representing HR at a board level and delivering an integrated HR platform for over 2,500 staff. In 2013, Phipps relocated to Dubai and joined the Jumeirah Group as HR manager, later performing the tasks of HR director for Jumeirah’s Maldives and Azerbaijan resorts.
Strim began his career in 1990 as a management trainee in Italy. He was enticed by the excitement of the kitchen and started as a Chef De Partie-Sous Chef at a boutique hotel in 1992. He then spent two decades working his way up through the Brigade de Cuisine in high-end luxury hotels and resorts in Italy, Japan and the UAE.
Prior to joining Kempinski Hotel Mall of the Emirates, Strim was with the Jumeirah Group for 10 years and has in-depth experience in managing large teams and high volume operations. He has been recognised by more than 20 industry bodies for his professional accomplishments. – TradeArabia News Service
