NAS wins key Egypt airport services contract

CAIRO, September 19, 2015

National Logistics Services Egypt, a subsidiary of the NAS Group, has been awarded a tender by Egyptian Airports Company to provide premium meet-and-assist and lounge services at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, one of the top 10 busiest airports in Africa.

NAS Group said the company started its initial operations in Kuwait in 2003 and is now the fastest growing aviation services provider in emerging markets. It has a major presence across the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region.

As per the contract, NAS will offer Pearl Assist, a meet-and-assist service for the estimated 7 million passengers travelling through Terminals 1 and 2 of Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport each year.

Pearl Assist is managed by NAS and is aimed at providing passengers with seamless services from the moment they arrive at the airport until the moment they depart.

On the win, Hassan El Houry, the chief executive of NAS Group, said: "We are pleased to partner with the Egyptian Airports Company to enhance the travelling experience of passengers at Sharm El-Sheikh airport. We are confident our Pearl Assist and Pearl Lounge services will provide passengers with a comfortable and relaxed transfer through the airport."

Pearl Assist, he stated, will ensure that travellers are promptly met and escorted on arrival and departure. Also it will help travellers to obtain expedited visa upon arrival and guide them through immigration clearance, baggage claim and finally, to their transportation pick-up point.

On the Pearl Lounge service, El Houry said, NAS had already been operating a lounge at both terminals since June.

The Pearl Lounge is accessible to special cardholders such as Priority Pass and Airport Angel members, employees of premium banks, and business class passengers, he stated.

At the lounge, NAS provides passengers with a wide range of services before they board a flight, including comfortable seats, charging stations, complimentary Wi-Fi, a play area for kids, and an assortment of snacks and beverages, he said.

To make the services more accessible and improve passenger experience, NAS has introduced a booking portal at www.pearlassist.com, mobile phone applications and other airport technologies for all Pearl services.

With rapid growth expected in Sharm El-Sheikh’s tourism sectors and NAS’ extensive experience in providing lounge and meet-and-assist services of the highest quality, passengers flying to or through Sharm El-Sheikh airport will experience truly seamless services, added El Houry.-TradeArabia News Service
