ATDD...looking to operate City Sightseeing Sharjah between the two emirates
Ajman plans new sightseeing operations
AJMAN, June 11, 2015
Ajman Tourism Development Department (ATDD) recently held discussions with Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) allowing City Sightseeing Sharjah to operate between Sharjah and Ajman.
The meeting, held at Ajman Museum’s Sheikh Humaid Hall, was attended by ATDD general manager Faisal Al Nuaimi.
Reviewing the MoU, earlier signed by both parties at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai last month, it was suggested that the first stage would see the tourist bus operate in September with only four stops in Ajman city.
Both parties will develop a marketing plan to render the project a success, said ATDD Licensing and Tourism Standards Yamina Aoucher, noting that a number of hotel establishments in Ajman would be points for ticket sales.
ATDD, the government department in charge of tourism industry development in the emirate, targets an annual number of five million visitors to Ajman by 2021.
By the end of the meeting, City Sightseeing Sharjah made its first tour in Ajman with members of ATDD and Shurooq on board. – TradeArabia News Service
