Cristal Group, a premier luxury hospitality company in the Middle East, has announced the opening of its new five-star property at Erbil in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Cristal Erbil Hotel is conveniently located in one of the city’s landmark buildings alongside the 100-m ring road, with just a 15-minute drive away from the airport, said a statement from the Cristal Group.

It features 100 luxurious rooms and a variety of suites namely Ruby Queen (38 sq m), Amber King (46 sq m), Quartz Junior Suite (60 sq m), Emerald Executive Suite  (60 sq m), and the one-bedroom Diamond Suite (94 sq m).

All of these facilities are fully equipped with the latest in technology and comfort, redefining the lavish hotel experience, said the statement.

The 5-star property offers a 24/7 room service, a mini bar and a safety deposit box along with high-speed internet, IP interactive telephones, 47-inch LED Smart TVs and individual climate-controlled air conditioning units.

The food & beverage (F&B) outlets have been designed to reflect the contemporary Cristal Brand and the local Kurdish culture. Viewz Restaurant’s Open Kitchen showcases seasonal, fresh produce and Chefs at work, the statement added.

The restaurant comprises three distinct intimate terrace areas that merge into each other creating a unique, and distinctly Erbilian atmosphere. The Shish Restaurant on-the-other-hand specialises in all types of Kurdish Kebabs and Taouks served with fresh Naan bread, said the hotel group.

Commenting on the launch, CEO Peter Blackburn said: "Cristal Erbil Hotel’s opening represents another significant step forward for the Group. It offers all the hallmarks of the Cristal brand from strategic location, stunning views to its bespoke service."

The atmosphere, he stated, was casual yet inspired by a busy Kurdish Style house that features the complete ‘Masgouf’ experience, which is a traditional Iraqi river fish slow cooked over an open fire pit.

"The guests can also relax and unwind at the Blendz Lobby Lounge with designer beers, upscale snacks, a giant video screen that showcases the English Premier League & other major sports events," he noted.

Blendz is indeed a welcoming place to hang out and be seen. Apart from the three dining outlets, Cristal Erbil will launch a massive garden restaurant that can accommodate 1,000 guests, perfect for outdoor parties & events.

As for the recreation facilities, the hotel boasts top class leisure and spa facilities that includes a multi-purpose gym, indoor swimming pool with Jacuzzi, separate male and female spa, relaxation room, steam and sauna, and treatment rooms.  

Cristal Erbil also has a sophisticated ballroom that can accommodate 300 guests and hitech conference rooms, said Blackburn.
