Global Hotel preferred bidder for Jordan airport

Jordan-based Global Hotel Group has been named preferred bidder for the construction and management of a transit hotel at the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) in Amman.

The hotel, which will come up on 900 sq m area at the North Pier in Queen Alia airport, will boast of three levels, a lobby, spacious rooms and a fully-equipped business area that offers a range of services including meeting and training rooms, fax machines and videoconferencing solutions.

The project is scheduled to be completed within six months, said a statement from Airport International Group (AIG), the company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of the airport.

The Global Hotel Group was selected following a stringent bid evaluation process based on a predefined set of criteria. The move is in line with AIG’s efforts to appoint a qualified service provider capable of ensuring optimum comfort and convenience for passengers traveling through QAIA, it added.

AIG chief executive Kjeld Binger said: "Building the transit hotel is closely aligned with our goal to provide QAIA passengers with a unique travel experience, as well as to continuously improve on our service offerings, on par with top international airports worldwide."

"This facility will offer transit passengers and business travellers a range of amenities and services that guarantee unprecedented comfort and will make their flight through Jordan a truly memorable one," he added.

Hotel Global Group Company managing director Azzam Abu Yasin said: “We are pleased to have been selected by AIG as the bidder of choice and would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to providing a premium hotel facility that is befitting of the Kingdom’s prime gateway.”-TradeArabia News Service
