Bahrain unveils tourism attractions at EIBTM

Bahrain’s Ministry of Culture’s said a senior delegation from its tourism sector is showcasing the Kingdom's historic and cultural landmarks at the ongoing EIBTM 2011 expo being held in Barcelona, Spain.
One of the world's largest exhibitions for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (Mice) sector, EIBTM is being held from November 29 to December 1.
The mammoth event will attract over 14,000 industry professionals from across the globe.
As part of its commitment to supporting the Mice travel and tourism sector in Bahrain and highlighting its advanced infrastructure within the Kingdom, the ministry is supporting seven leading companies representing the hotel, travel and tourism, and airline industries in Bahrain.
The co-exhibitors in the EIBTM pavilion, include: Gulf Hotel, Regency InterContinental Hotel, Gulf Air, Mathias Tourism Company, Events @Bahrain, Royal Gulf Club, and Travel & Tourism News magazine published by Al Hilal Publishing and Marketing Group.
The Ministry said there had been a strong interest from the international Mice community in Bahrain’s participation at a briefing session with the participating companies held at Bahrain Fort Museum.
Nada Ahmed Yaseen, assistant undersecretary for tourism said, 'Our prime objective is to showcase Bahrain’s abundant historic and cultural landmarks that complement its first-rate tourism infrastructure and advanced network of auxiliary services and facilities - enabling the Kingdom to attract and successfully host some of the world’s most prestigious international events and Mice business.'
'Besides we also aim to exchange expertise and establish partnerships to further boost and grow the Kingdom’s tourism sector,' she added.
“Having Manama named the Arab Capital of Culture for 2012 and the Arab Capital of Tourism in 2013 came as a result of Bahrain’s successful track record in organizing and hosting high-profile events, including Formula 1, Spring of Culture, Bahrain International Air Show, Cisco Networkers, and Bahrain International Music Festival, all of which demonstrate Bahrain’s leading position in this area on global scene,” Yaseen added.
Gulf Air CEO Samer Majali said, 'As the largest network carrier in the Middle East, Gulf Air provides easy access to some of the key tourism and cultural centers in the region in addition to enabling businesses to reach out to primary and secondary cities with its excellent connectivity via its Bahrain hub.'

Bahrain’s state-of-the-art EIBTM pavilion is fully equipped with a VIP lounge, Gulf Air lounge, a presentation area, and dedicated meeting areas for each of the co-exhibitors.-TradeArabia News Service
