Dubai Mall offers summer fun

Dubai, September 19, 2009

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and Dubai Ice Rink at The Dubai Mall offered cool, summer-fun activities for young and old alike with children being active participants in the fun learning initiatives.

Summer fun day camps, summer Xtra free visit passes, intensive skate camps and month-long free skating were offered to make the summer holidays memorable.

The Summer Fun Day Camp provided a half day programme at Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, with a mix of edutainment, exercise and all-out fun. Children could get close to over 33,000 aquatic animals, learn all about undersea wonders, touch a creepy-crawly animal, learn how to identify different fish, go behind-the-scenes at the aquarium and a whole lot more.

Two hours of ice skating at Dubai Ice Rink provided an exhilarating experience for all, whether first timers on ice or adept skaters. Refreshments and lunch were also provided for children in this day camp.

The Summer Xtra promotion offered visitors a chance to earn free visits to either Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo or Dubai Ice Rink. For those who were keen to further hone their skating skills, the ‘Summer on Ice’ offer provided a 5-week learn-to-skate course, consisting of five levels.

“As the city’s most popular leisure destinations, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo and Dubai Ice Rink opened doors to welcome families and children this summer,” said Arif Amari, chief executive officer, Emaar Retail, which manages The Dubai Mall.

“Programmes like the Summer Fun Day Camp gave children a taste of what they can experience in our popular education programme The Ocean School, as well as get them out on the ice,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
