Planet Group to invest $463m in 3 hotels

Dubai, September 2, 2008

Dubai-based Planet Group, a  tourism and ground handling company, is investing Dh1.7 billion ($463 million) in two hotels in Abu Dhabi and one in Beirut, a report said.

Beirut is seen as the Middle East's next tourism hotspot after Dubai, according to the Gulf News report.

'Among these will be a 420-unit serviced apartment complex and a 400-key five-star Planet Hotel in Danet Dubai,' stated George Moussa, chairman of the Planet Group. 'Together, these are Dh1 billion worth projects.'

'Abu Dhabi is going to be the next destination for tourism as the government is developing a number of islands to attract tourists to the emirate.'

Planet Group is building a $200 million beach resort spread over 25,000 sq m near the hills in Beirut.

'We are also finalising a deal to develop beachfront resorts in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman,' Moussa added.
