The Mall at WTCAD adds 17 new brands

ABU DHABI, June 12, 2018

The Mall at World Trade Center (The Mall at WTCAD), the mixed-use urban centre located in the heart of downtown Abu Dhabi, has added 17 new, home-grown brands and popular international outlets to its 230-strong collection of brands.

The mall has experienced a positive year-on-year increase in traffic for 2018, driven by the diversification of its portfolio, exciting entertainment and enticing offers from retailers.

Since the beginning of the year, nine new brands have opened for trading and additional8will open during the remaining part of the year.  As well as refreshing its retail mix, The Mall has also undergone a modern interior and exterior facelift, with the building enhancements elevating the holistic customer experience.  

Yasser Al Marzouqi, general manager of The Mall at WTCAD Abu Dhabi, commented: “We are evolving the retail mix of The Mall at WTCAD to ensure we are constantly meeting the changing expectations, demographics shifts and preferences of our customers.”

“The new brands have proven to be a great success and we have been delighted to begin to see positive signs of uplift in footfall. By embracing the evolution of our local market, we have repositioned The Mall as a mixed-use urban retail centre that appeals to downtown residents, office workers and tourists through our diverse mix of shopping, dining and entertainment options.

“With new stores driving additional customer visits, the mall is beginning to evolve and expand its offer to encompass more of what our visitors are looking for. At the same time, we aim to continue to create a lively and friendly atmosphere through our event marketing and activities which complements and showcases The Mall at WTCAD as a retail and entertainment urban hub for Abu Dhabi’s downtown residents and tourists,” he added.

A number of stores have opened in recent weeks including Max Fashion, one of the largest value fashion brands across Mena and India, which launched its 34th store in the UAE at The Mall at World Trade Center, Abu Dhabi. The store stocks Max’s women’s, men’s and children’s fashion label, as well as footwear, handbags and lingerie.

Pure Gold Jewellers has also recently opened in a prime location on the ground floor of the mall. As one of the largest retailers of affordable and luxury jewellery with 150 stores in 20 countries including the Middle East and Asia.

Famous for its fresh and tasty Mexican food, award-wining eatery Taqado Mexican Kitchen has opened on the third floor of the mall. Open all day, Taqado has brought Mexican street food to the region with its menu including everything from breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros, burritos and tacos to Juices, churros, and even a kid’s menu.

Since opening, The Hub has become one of Abu Dhabi’s most popular dining destinations as its array of innovative and cutting-edge restaurants appeal to tourist and residents alike. Its latest addition, the Back Yard Bistro, has already become a favourite with locals as it mixes sport, entertainment and dining, hosting many fun-themed evenings, such as WoW Ladies Night and Lords of the Wings.

The Mall at WTCAD will continue to welcome new brands, with at least five more brands set to open by September this year. The next grand opening will be Lulu Hypermarket in the first week of July, offering an ultra-modern shopping ambience by integrating all conceivable needs of the consumers under one roof. It will be the first new concept of its kind.  

After this, fun eateries will launch at The Mall at WTCAD, including The Sugar Factory, Pancake House, Al Mandoos, The Surf Café and Hot Palayok, in addition to Action Zone and Train Gym. – TradeArabia News Service
