Majid Al Futtaim rolls out Ramadan activities

DUBAI, June 15, 2017

Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia, has rolled out an action-packed programme to mark Ramadan at all its malls in the Northern Emirates.

The City Centre Sharjah, City Centre Ajman, City Centre Fujairah, Matajer and My City Centre Nasseriya are staying open late and hosting a wide range of activities including games, promotions and lucky draws offering big-ticket prizes – such as instant cash vouchers, Iftar meal vouchers, dozens of iPhones, a GMC Terrain SUV and a Nissan Patrol SUV.

"Ramadan is a time to cherish and spend with loved ones," remarked Fuad Mansoor Sharaf, the managing director (UAE, Bahrain & Oman) – Property Management, Shopping Malls for Majid Al Futtaim.

“Majid Al Futtaim’s shopping malls across the Northern Emirates are fostering the community spirit this Ramadan, by offering a variety of traditional activities and winning opportunities for families and visitors of all backgrounds. By extending the opening hours of our retail, dining and entertainment outlets, we are enabling families to spend more quality time together and those who fast to enjoy the ceremonial meal of Suhoor,” he added.

A TIME TO GIVE

Joining hands once again in Majid Al Futtaim’s annual ‘Make a Difference’ initiative, now in its 11th year, with visitors encouraged to donate items such as clothes, toys, books and non-perishable food at designated collection zones.

All contributions will be handed to registered charity Emirates Red Crescent, the UAE branch of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

Last year, more than 13,000 people contributed towards the campaign across the Middle East and North Africa, donating more than 63,000 books, 46,500 toys and 52,000 kilogrammes of clothes, as well as Dh311,699 in cash.

For over a decade, Majid Al Futtaim’s shopping malls have hosted one of the largest collective charitable efforts in the region, said Sharaf.

This year, and inspired by the UAE leadership’s powerful ‘Year of Giving’ initiative, we hope to collect more contributions than ever before.

"Make a Difference is an excellent opportunity for people to give back in a small way and embrace the spirit of the Holy Month. We look forward to seeing families enjoying great moments together at each of our malls’ Ramadan activities and joining in the #ShareTogether social media campaign," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
