Landmark to open new stores in Dalma Mall

Dubai, November 27, 2011

Dalma Mall, the largest shopping destination in Abu Dhabi, will add three new lifestyle brands from the portfolio of Landmark Group, one of the most successful retail groups in the Middle East.

Landmark is opening its Max, Emax and Fitness First outlets in Dalma Mall, adding to its existing roster of three hugely popular brands – Home Centre, Centrepoint and Fun City, said a statement.

Fitness First, the definitive choice for fitness enthusiasts, will sprawl over 22,000 sq ft in Dalma Mall, and Emax, the electronics retail outlet, will have 26,000 sq ft. Both will open in the coming months, while Max, the fashion, accessories and household products store, spreading over an area of nearly 30,000 sq ft, is already open.

Rashid Doleh, executive director of Dalma Mall, said: “Recording growing visitor footfalls with the addition of several new shopping and entertainment choices, Dalma Mall is focused on offering an ideal retail mix that ensures a complete lifestyle experience for our visitors.”

He added: “The addition of three new brands by Landmark Group at Dalma Mall is a strong testament to the confidence of the industry in the mall’s ability to attract and drive customer interest. We will continue to introduce new customer experiences that will set Dalma Mall apart as a premier lifestyle destination.”

Hamad Darwish, vice chairman, The Developers, said: “Dalma Mall has established strong partnerships with leading retail groups in the region such as Landmark Group. The partnership underlines the mall’s commitment to providing a world-class shopping environment and bringing the best in global brands to Abu Dhabi – all under one roof.”

The newly opened Max is one of the UAE’s popular and most successful homegrown brands. The Dalma Mall store is the third Max outlet in Abu Dhabi and among the largest in its portfolio. Max offers the full range of fashion clothing, footwear, accessories and household products at competitive prices.

Ramanathan Hariharan, chief operating officer of Max, said: “Since the launch of our first store in Abu Dhabi in 2004, Max has grown rapidly across the UAE, Middle East and India catering to the value-conscious consumers. Our new outlet in Dalma Mall is the 125th store in the Middle East. We are happy that our new store in Abu Dhabi will bring us closer to our customers and help us serve them better.”

With over 60 per cent of its 1.6 million sq feet of leasable area leased out, Dalma Mall has signed strategic partnerships with key retailers including Al Futtaim, to bring a diverse breadth of retail experiences to the mall. The stores that are already open include a large Carrefour Hypermarket and Matalan as well as a host of specialty outlets. Marks and Spencer is due to open early next year.

Abu Dhabi’s largest Cineplex – the 14-screen CineRoyal Cinemas – offering over 2,200 seats has opened at the mall. - TradeArabia News Service
