More than 140 exhibitors from 18 countries will showcase their finest jewellery, gemstones and designer timepieces at the Abu Dhabi International Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) which opens in the UAE capital on Monday.

The internationally-renowned show will run up till October 21 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. It is open to the public, who will get a chance to see the latest jewellery and watch designs from the world’s top notch designers and brands.

The event is expected to see more than 10,000 visitors descend on the emerging luxury capital of the region, said organisers Reed Exhibitions.

The elite event, now in its 19th year, continues to attract top designers, retailers and distributors from around the world, who will be showcasing the finest gold and silver jewellery, gemstones, precious and semi-precious stones, pearls and designer watches, it stated.

Raya Dandal, show manager, Reed Exhibitions, said: “The JWS in Abu Dhabi has been a must-attend show for the general public alike from many years now, but this year’s event promises to be truly spectacular given the recent interest in gold and other precious metals.

'With exhibitors come from all over the world, visitors can expect to see everything from beautifully crafted ethnic pieces through to haute couture designer collections,' he noted.

'With the recent correction in gold prices after many months of record-breaking rise in prices, this is a golden opportunity for all those who have been staying from the metal to lap up some truly exquisite jewellery sets,” Dandal said.

Tickets for the show have been priced at Dh20 per person, which also entitles visitors to participate in a daily raffle draw during the event with some spectacular prizes to be won.
