Motorola to showcase new mobile devices

Dubai, February 7, 2011

Motorola Mobility, a global leader in mobile technologies, will showcase its latest and most powerful devices at an upcoming mobile congress in Barcelona.

Mobile World Congress will run from February 14 to 17.

The congress, which began as a gathering of operator members, has now grown to include device manufacturers, service providers and application developers, becoming an industry platform for the emergence of new mobile technologies.

“We look forward to showcasing our latest and most powerful technologies, our ideas, and to networking with other industry leaders. This year is an exciting time for mobile communications as we expand our product range and as we create and deliver new devices for customers that are always on the move,” said Raed Hafez, general manager, Middle East & Africa, Motorola Mobility.

On display will be Motorola’s Xoom and the Motorola Atrix.

Motorola Atrix is the world’s most powerful smartphone with a dual-core processor that is the fastest yet offered in a mobile phone and is designed to essentially become a user’s primary digital hub to create, edit and interact with documents, media and content, a company statement said.

Atrix provides users with a larger screen, keyboard and trackpad as well as a 1GHz dual-core processor capable of opening Web pages twice as fast as most other smartphones, rendering games faster and displaying HD video on big-screen TVs, it added.

Motorola’s tablet Xoom is the first device to incorporate Android 3.0 Honeycomb, Google’s powerful new operating system.

It is the first tablet to connect to the new Google Mobile Innovation service offering books, music and movies – anytime, anywhere – and all in HD optimized for Motorola XOOM’s 10.1-inch widescreen (16:9), according to the statement.

With high-definition (1280x800) 10.1-inch widescreen (16:9) display, the Xoom enables.

HD video in landscape mode. It is also narrow enough for convenient two-handed on-screen typing in portrait mode.

The Xoom delivers 51 per cent more video than the leading competitor relative to the front of the device and also features unique dock options that allow HD content streaming to TV and easy connection to PC accessories like mouse and keyboard devices, according to the statement.

A fully functioning HD camcorder and a 5MP camera to view and edit videos and photos immediately are also available. – TradeArabia News Service
