The six-week Summer in Abu Dhabi festival, which is opening today (June 24) across Abu Dhabi city and Al Ain, is offering visitors a chance to win two luxury Chevrolet cars.

An all new 2010 Chevrolet Malibu Sedan and Chevrolet Traverse Crossover will be on show in Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec) where visitors can get free entry into draws for the cars by completing a coupon attached to their tickets.

“This is an additional summer bonus for the thousands of visitors we expect at Adnec to join in the awesome activities running in Hall 11,” explained Faisal Al Sheikh, events manager, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), which is organising the festival.

This year’s Summer in Abu Dhabi is its largest edition to date and includes three main international acts running at Adnec’s Abu Dhabi Hall – the Gulf’s largest indoor entertainment venue.

The festival had its soft launch last night (June 23) with the debut performance of legendary Irish dancing theatrical ‘Lord of the Dance, the world’s highest grossing dance show.

The other two major acts – Fantasy On Ice and New York’s Big Apple Circus – will also run in the Abu Dhabi Hall throughout Summer in Abu Dhabi.

This year, Summer in Abu Dhabi has spilled out from its traditional Adnec home to six shopping centres - Abu Dhabi Mall, Marina Mall and Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi, as well as Al Jimi Mall, Al Ain Mall and Bawadi Mall in Al Ain – and entry is free to all activities.

Running at the malls are indigenous cultural performances, multi-dimensional entertainment experiences, ‘live’ cooking classes, competitions and workshops. Shops are backing up the festivities with special offers and promotions.   

And with the two Chevrolet car draws, taking place on July 15 and the festival’s last day on August 4, Summer in Abu Dhabi visitors now have more reasons to ‘get out into the great indoors’.

Summer in Abu Dhabi will run from June 24 to August 4.
