SEC kicks of ops at $157m Al Jolla power station

RIYADH, July 6, 2018

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has started operating the main SR590 million ($157 million) Al Julla station with  33/132/380 KV, to serve a number of cities and villages in Riyadh, especially in Quwaiyyah, Muzahmiyeh and Dharma.

SEC said that the plant was established in the framework of the policy of the company supporting local manufacturers in the field of electric power, noting that the station is operated by national cadres trained engineers and technicians.

The project comes within the framework of the Saudi Electricity Plan to establish high-reliability electrical projects to enhance electricity service in all regions of the Kingdom. The number of subscribers reached more than nine million compared to 3.5 million when the company was established in 2000, In addition to the delivery of electricity service to 13,112 complexes. – TradeArabia News Service
