Iran’s NIDC in charge of 60pc of drilling ops

TEHRAN, December 21, 2016

The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) is now responsible for drilling operations in 60 percent of onshore and 25 offshore wells, said a top official.

NIDC has drilled 4,178 oil and gas wells, saving the country about $16 billion since its establishment, Heidar Bahmani was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily report.

The official added that in the 37 years since its founding, the NIDC raised the number of its drilling rigs to 75 from six and drilled more than 8,836 meters of well and managed 151,000 specialized operations.

The company is now offering 27 types of technical services, while drilling both onshore and offshore wells, according to Bahmani.
