Production will resume this week at plants operated by Saudi Arabia's Methanol Chemicals Co (Chemanol) following routine maintenance, the company said on Wednesday.

Operations at its methanol plant and dimethylformamide plant restarted on Wednesday, while its paraformaldehyde plant will recommence production on Thursday, Chemanol said in a bourse statement.

The company announced the plant shutdowns in mid-December. At the time, Chemanol said the temporary closures would impact its financials by SR20 million ($5.33 million), split between the fourth quarter of 2015 and the first three months of 2016. - Reuters
