Aveva Engineering software was a key driver
for Suez’s move to IE&D.

Suez Environnement picks Aveva design solution

SÃO PAULO, Brazil, June 18, 2015

Suez Environnement America Latina, is deploying a fully Integrated Engineering & Design (IE&D) solution from Aveva, a software provider for power and process plants, on a major capital project in Mexico.

Aveva software has been used for the design, build and operation of Cogeneration Ciudad Juarez, an energy generation system from biogas. It will benefit from a suite of integrated 2D and 3D applications that improves the consistency of deliverables across engineering disciplines, while increasing quality and data reliability.

“Aveva’s Integrated Engineering & Design solution is proving to be a very important investment for us,” said Lilian Menezes, Engineering Tools & Software leader – Latam, Suez.

“We required more than a generic CAD product and spreadsheets for our engineering data. The Aveva Engineering software was a key driver for our move to IE&D because it interlinks to all the project data within the other Aveva applications. Users are able to manipulate, compare, and update the project data in a user friendly and reliable environment.

“An integrated solution is definitely the smart and most effective way that Engineering Departments should work going forward. It increases project data consistency and predictability, as well as overall project productivity and the quality of our deliverables,” she added.

“Fifty to 80 per cent of an engineer’s time can be spent moving and organising data between programmes,” said Evgeny Fedotov, senior vice-president – EPC and Marine, Aveva.

“We advise customers to avoid generic spreadsheet and document tools that can prove chaotic, and adopt a more structured approach to controlling the vast amount of evolving project information and deliverables. By implementing an IE&D solution Suez can concurrently create, control and manage change to plant engineering and design data in the most productive and risk-free way as their projects evolve.”

Along with Aveva Engineering, Suez has implemented Aveva Diagrams, Aveva Instrumentation, Aveva Electrical, Aveva Schematic 3D Integrator and Aveva PDMS.

The Cogeneration Ciudad Juarez Project consists of Suez designing, building and operating the treatment plant. Biogas is generated in the sludge treatment process of existing sludge production and treatment plants (North and South Ptar’s), in Juarez, State of Chihuahua, Mexico, It will be used as an energy generation system. – TradeArabia News Service
