New 2016 Volkswagen Passat launched in Dubai

DUBAI, January 28, 2016

Al Nabooda Automobiles, the sole distributor of Volkswagen in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, has launched the new 2016 Passat at its showrooms across the emirates.

The new model features a striking new design, innovative technology and enhanced value at a starting price of just Dh87,823 ($23,911), said a statement.

It will be available in four configurations - S, SE, SEL and Sport - and features more aggressive styling than its predecessor, with a new hood, front fenders, grille, front and rear bumpers, trunk lid and LED headlights and taillights, it said.

Thierry Seys, general manager, Al Nabooda  - Volkswagen, said: “With a bolder front-end and redesigned rear bumpers and hood, the new Passat’s exterior gives it a more striking look without sacrificing the shape that has defined the car.

“Extensive work has been made to the interior providing the Passat with a more premium and refined feel. The upgrade of technology gives our customers increased safety features as well as enhancing their connectivity to the in-car infotainment systems.”

The new exterior offers slimmer headlights, a more substantial four-bar grille, and a muscular, domed hood, with all features blending harmoniously to give the Passat a wider, more planted stance at the front end, said the statement.

Additionally, a new chrome strip on the trunk ensures the rear lights appear lower, enhancing the grounded appearance.

Inside, the model showcases an extensively upgraded interior, for a more sophisticated look and feel, including a new steering wheel and two-tone décor panels and refined chrome and piano black trim.

The Passat features the second-generation in-car infotainment system that features touchscreens, USB and Bluetooth as standard equipment on all 2016 Passat models.

Meanwhile, Volkswagen also offers a combination of new safety and driver assistance systems in the 2016 Passat.
