Abu Dhabi, January 13, 2010
Yas Marina Circuit will host five major motorsport events in 2010 as part of a year round calendar of world-class entertainment.
GP2 Asia, V8 Supercars Australia and the new FIA GT1 international series will all take place in the first half of 2010.
The circuit will again host the final race of the Formula 1 FIA World Championship, with the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place from November 12 to 14.
In March a major international Drag Racing Festival will launch Yas Marina Circuit’s Drag Racing Centre. The Drag Racing Festival will feature the best of drag racing from the USA. After the festival, the Drag Racing Centre will host regular events where the public can race their own vehicles.
“Yas Marina Circuit has been created to provide world-class entertainment to local people and international visitors and that’s exactly what these events will deliver,” said Richard Cregan, CEO of Yas Marina Circuit.
“In addition to major events we will have regular drag racing, a variety of courses and experiences at our Driving Academy and guided tours for those people who just want to have a look around.”
“We will also continue to host community events such as the UAE Walk for Diabetes.”
