Juffali unveils revamped Merc models

Jeddah, June 24, 2008

Juffali Automotive Company, the exclusive dealer for Mercedes-Benz cars in Saudi Arabia, launched three upgraded and improved Mercedes-Benz SLK, CLS, and SL models at their new showroom in Jeddah’s Automall.

The launch is in line with the new Mercedes-Benz Fascination campaign, said Safi Kobeissi, the general manager of Juffali Automotive Company.

Dynamic and appealing in design, the three new models are straight out of the “Mercedes-Benz Dream Factory,” he noted.

“These three models have been market leaders in their segments in Saudi Arabia, and the subtle yet visible changes in them will strengthen our position in the minds of our customers and in the market,” Kobeissi explained.

The new generation SL-class, which is the most successful premium roadster in its class, features a new design with the emphasis firmly on sportiness and effortless assurance.

The SL 350 is powered by a newly developed, extremely high-revving sports engine boasting an impressive output of 232 kW/316 hp yet returns a fuel consumption figure that is 0.4 litres per 100 km lower than that of its predecessor (NEDC).

The Mercedes sports car extends its lead in the safety stakes courtesy of bi-xenon headlamps, included as standard, and the Intelligent Light System whose light functions are designed specifically for typical driving situations.

The SL model class is rounded off by two awesome AMG models, the SL63AMG with a 6.2 liter V8 engine producing 525hp and 630Nm of torque mated to an all new AMG Speed-shift MCT transmission and the SL65 AMG with a 6.0 liter V12 bi-turbo engine producing 612hp and 1000Nm of Torque, Kobeissi said.

The SL63 is the first AMG car to feature the new MCT (Multi Clutch Technology) AMG Speedshift 7-Speed transmission.

As the new entry-level model, Mercedes-Benz offers the CLS 280 with an up to date 2996 cc V6 engine developing a maximum output of 170 kW/231 hp and a peak torque of 300 Newton metres.-TradeArabia News Service
