Bahraini engineer elected president of Arab federation

Bahraini engineering professional Dheya Tawfiqi has been elected president of the Federation of Arab Engineers.
The announcement follows the 71st board meeting of the association in Beirut, Lebanon, said report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) president Masoud Al Hermi and director of external relations Mohamed Alkhozai were present at the meeting, where Syrian Society of Engineers president Mohamed Walid Ghazal was elected vice-president.
Tawfiqi was BSE president for three consecutive terms (1996-2002) where he has demonstrated high levels of professionalism and expertise leading to notable outcomes in the kingdom's urban sectors.
Former Industry and Commerce Minister Dr Hassan Fakhro has earlier been elected to the post. - TradeArabia News Service
