Bahrain’s aviation unit wins ISO certification
Manama, January 3, 2013
The air navigation directorate of Bahrain’s Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) division has passed external audit of its quality management system to win the ISO9001:2008 certification.
The Transportation Ministry's CAA is the second government authority in the world to obtain the certification, according to Lloyds' Register of Quality Assurance, which carried out the audit.
The milestone was achieved following Cabinet directives for all directorates at the CAA to conform to ISO9001:2008 certification requirements, the ministry said, according to a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.
The results of the audit were extremely positive, reflecting the employees' commitment to quality and achievement of the highest performance levels, said the ministry.
To ensure application of the highest international standards, the strategic planning and quality assurance directorate supervised the certification stages and facilitated the air navigation directorate to fulfil all requirements.
All directorates at the CAA have obtained ISO9001:2008, and their certification is reviewed and evaluated regularly by specialised international companies to ensure maintenance of the same standards of quality.
All directorates of the CAA have met the required standards in their operations and the services they provide, to merit Lloyd's certification. – TradeArabia News Service
