Major wood show opens in Cairo

More than 40 exhibitors from eight countries are taking part in a major display of wood products, import capabilities and manufacturing potential at a wood and wood working machinery event that has opened in Cairo.
The inaugural Cairo International Wood & Wood Machinery Show was declared open by Dr Mahmoud Essa, Egypt’s Minister of Industry and Foreign Investment yesterday (October 9).
The show will run until October 12 at the Cairo International Convention Centre.
Following the winning WoodShow' formula, the Cairo edition is presented as a strategic gathering for wood enthusiasts from all corners of the globe, state-of-the-art expertise & know-how on display and million dollars transaction would be made on the spot.
The show also serves as a key trading platform to develop effective networking opportunities for Egypt and its neighboring countries.
One of the highlights of the event is the Auction on Fire activity, which is a two-hour daily auction of the latest wood products and wood working machinery that will be held at the CICC’s Auction Zone.
“These are truly exciting times for Egypt, which is moving at a remarkable pace towards recovering from the events that happened earlier this year,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, CEO, Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions, organisers of the event.

The event features exhibitors coming from countries like Romania, Italy, USA, China and Germany.
More than 70 international brands is displayed in the exhibition with the expectations of more than 9,000 specialized trade visitors and international delegations from Kenya, Angola, Nigeria, Cyprus, China, Turkey, Qatar, Jordan, KSA and Morocco.
