Top online multi-player game to debut in Mena

Dubai, December 22, 2010

The multiplayer online role-playing game “Runes of Might Chapter II- the Elven Legacy” will be making its debut in the Mena market on January 11, 2011.

Set to be launched under the portfolio of Tahadi Games, part of the Jabbar Internet Group, it invites online gaming players to test their mettle and share adventures in the embedded atmospheric fantasy world.

The game which is already available in German, French and Spanish (as Runes of Magic) hits Middle Eastern shores with a modified storyline to respect sensibilities and make it more socially acceptable in the region.

With extensive crafting and reputation system, thrilling player vs player (PvPs) as well as demanding dungeons this game allows both Arabic and English speakers to play together.

The innovative dual class system allows endless customization of avatars in both looks and skills and will lead players into new game regions characterized by Elven lore.

“We broke new grounds in 2009 with the launch of Runes of Might chapter I which now has over 5000 players in the Middle East,” said Steve Tsao, CEO of Tahadi Games.

“Our aim of bringing ‘Runes of Might Chapter II- the Elven Legacy’ an already established and popular MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) across the globe, to the region is to cater to the massive Arabic audience. Our customization in the game matches the sensibilities of the market enabling more and more gaming enthusiasts to enjoy the world-class features of the game,” he added.

The open beta launch will allow players to reconnect with merchants, resources and quests which only a select group of players experienced during the closed beta period.

The key features of the game includes free download, no zone boundaries due to seamless architecture, ranking system, personalization of player houses, in-game auction houses for trading items, cross-server fights in three-server-battle in development and more.

“Players on this server are incredibly competitive. The big difference when playing on this server is the arena battles and guild wars also if your character is killed the game delves into a very gang-like atmosphere,” Tsao said.

“Also, if someone kills you in the game, the person is added to your nemesis list and you can see when he’s online, track him down and get your guild to attack that person which is definitely lot more fun and has the gamer completely glued,” he concluded.

“Runes of Might Chapter II- the Elven Legacy” the game was released in early 2009 and since then the game’s fan-following has increased to over 4 million subscribers strong, with 3 expansion packs in tow.

With no monthly fees added to the game it is one of the best free to play MMOs, a statement said.

The game will also be made available through Pluto Games in a retail pack on a DVD for users which enables them to play at all times; in UAE it will be available at Virgin Megastore, Geekay, Sharaf DG, Emax, CompuMe Electronic and Jarir Bookstore, Tokyo games, Extra and Computer House in Saudi Arabia.

The retail pack will offer exclusive items that can’t be purchase in the game with over Dh300 ($81.67) of value. – TradeArabia News Service
