Dubai beauty event opens
Dubai, June 1, 2010
The largest international trade fair for beauty products, cosmetics and perfumery in the region has opened in Dubai.
The 2010 edition of Beautyworld Middle East was inaugurated today (June 1) by Sheikha Dr Hind Bint Abdul Aziz Al Qassimi, chairperson of Emirates Business Women’s Council at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The show will run until June 3.
Sheikha Hind said that her visit to the show with her colleagues from Emirates Women’s Business Council helped give them an overview of the latest products and services available.
“Beautyworld ME exhibition will provide opportunities for UAE businesses to meet international visitors and forge partnerships,” she said.
Shaikha Hind continued: "The beauty and cosmetics business in the UAE has been very strong particularly in recent years. We all like to look and feel good and so this industry continues to grow.”
“I love to see the latest products and services available on the market and am delighted to support this exhibition which helps to bring the latest international products to the region through key distributors."
This year’s edition features 734 exhibitors representing more than a 10 per cent increase from last year, a statement said.
“Everything from organic and halal cosmetics from all over the world, to the latest trends in hair, skin and nail products and technology are featured at the event,” said Ahmed Pauwels, chief executive officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt GmbH, trade fair organiser.
“A major focus at this year’s Beautyworld Middle East is on healthy, hygienic and safety best practices within salons.”
“This is the subject of a seminar and demonstration by Dubai Municipality during the exhibition. The municipality puts big efforts into building awareness on the importance of salon hygiene and we hope our event helps con-tribute to this cause,” Pauwels added.
Natural and organic personal care products are other key areas of interest at Beautyworld Middle East 2010.
One of the main attractions at the exhibition is the Walk of Beauty organised by Madi International in association with The Hair Group and its subsidiary companies myhairdressers.com and Salon Educators. The make-up for the event is provided by Flawless You Forever.
Another show feature is Nail It! by OPI which is a series of seminars and workshops culminating in a nail competition.
