UAE visa goes online

Dubai, July 31, 2008

UAE’s Ministry of Interior has announced that both citizens and residents can now apply for all types of visas online through its website www.moieserv.ae.

The applicants will also be able to pay the fees and charges online using credit cards, a Khaleej Times report quoting Major-General Mattar Salim bin Mesaied Al Neiadi, director of the IT Department at the ministry, said.

They can also take a printout of the filled-in application form, attach the required documents and submit them at the nearest Naturalisation and Residency Department to receive the visa immediately after document verification.

Major Khalid Nasr, head of the System Development Section at the IT Department, clarified that the ministry has provided two methods of payment of the fees and charges.

The first one is available for everybody, which is by paying through a credit card, while the second method is tailored for companies and establishments, as they will be able to open a special financial account (Wallet) with the Dubai Commercial Bank with a minimum value of Dh5,000 ($1358) for payment of fees and charges, the report said.
