Five short films from UAE filmmakers, produced with the support of twofour54 creative lab, will be showcased at the Cannes Film Festival which opened in France yesterday (May 14).

The films will be shown in the "Best of Arabic Short Films by twofour54" section of the Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival, a Wam report said.

The festival will run till May 25.

The event gives young filmmakers the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of a worldwide film audience.

"We are excited and proud to see talented Arab filmmakers participating in global events that highlight the development of the film industry in the Middle East and Abu Dhabi in particular; Cannes Film Festival is an excellent platform to showcase our productions to the world," said Maryam Al Mheiri, chief operating officer of twofour54.
