A rare wristwatch featuring Bahraini pearls goes on sale in New York on December 16, Bahrain’s National Day. The 18-carat pink gold 1958 Patek Philippe watch, with natural seed pearl hour markers, is being hailed as a “remarkable discovery, featuring royal provenance and never-before seen design attributes”, according to a statement from auction house Christie’s. It was reportedly a gift from HH the Amir Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to an American businessman and adviser who worked extensively in the Middle East, reported the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
