Energy software provider POWWR sets up new I&C division

MANCHESTER, 2 days ago

POWWR, a major cloud-based software provider for the energy and utilities sector, has announced the formation of a specific Industry and Commercial (I&C) division with Scott Barber as its head.

As Head of I&C, Barber will be responsible for strategic leadership and the overall management of the new team. He will play a pivotal role in expanding business opportunities for POWWR within the UK and beyond, particularly in the burgeoning renewable energy space.

A respected industry veteran, Barber has been with POWWR for over five years. Prior to joining the company, Barber held senior roles at the UK’s largest energy supplier British Gas and a well-known energy Broker Aggregator.

In his role, he will oversee a team that has a combined 46 years’ experience within the energy industry, working for energy suppliers, broker aggregators and energy brokers such as British Gas, Opus Energy and Yu Energy.

As Head of I&C, Barber is tasked with ensuring smooth and effective operations across all functions. In this role, he and his team will conduct regular supplier and broker visits to help maintain the company’s strong relationships within the industry, said the statement.

I&C customers are generally classified as those that use more than 150,000 kWh per annum. Due to their high usage rates and the fact that they often have multiple meters across multiple sites, they often require bespoke billing.

Barber and his team will identify and capitalise on new market opportunities. Plus, they will look at enhancing POWWR’s existing service offerings to ensure optimal customer experiences so that its clients can meet changing market demands.

On the new division, CEO Matt Tormollen said: "Whilst we help businesses of all sizes, POWWR has achieved significant traction within the I&C sector during the past 12 months. Given market dynamics, brokers and supplier to I&C customers have never needed streamlined processes and advanced tools more than they do now."

"The ability to efficiently manage tenders leveraging specialised software to optimise request processing, provide dynamic pricing, and produce tailored quotations with faster cycle time cannot be understated," he stated.

Barber pointed out that meter connections can be tricky for I&C businesses. "They can have multiple meters under the same business name across different billable sites with different usages in each. They might, for example, require a multi-site tender for HH, NHH, and Gas. Plus, if the start dates vary across sites, they often prefer a co-terminus end date to align contracts," he stated.

"This can be a real headache for suppliers and brokers. Luckily, we are well placed to help," he added.

In a drive to ensure POWWR’s product portfolio is aligned to the needs of modern I&C businesses, Barber will be establishing transparent and open lines of communication with all clients.

He will also be introducing regular supplier and broker reviews to evaluate performance against pre-agreed SLAs.

"We want to establish a clear process for collecting feedback from our customers on their experience working with POWWR, and then use this input to drive continuous improvement," added Barber.

Tormollen pointed out that through the evolution and expansion of its core industry relationships, POWWR can negotiate a range of exclusive products and commercial terms with key suppliers not available elsewhere.

"This helps us support our broker partners to meet the diverse needs of their I&C customers and grow their I&C portfolio," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
