Mumtalakat unit inks purchase deal with H Al Dhaen Boats

MANAMA, December 27, 2018

Southern Tourism Company (STC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, has signed a purchase agreement with H Al Dhaen Boats for a commercial passenger boat to transport visitors to and from Hawar Islands, where Hawar Beach Hotel is located.

The new purchase is the 15th boat to be added to STC’s fleet.

The hotel’s management and operations, along with their logistical transport services, were also added to STC’s services last year.

The agreement was signed at Mumtalakat’s headquarters by Captain Abdulla Abdulrazaq Al Murbati, acting chief executive officer of Southern Tourism Company, and Stefan Whitmarsh, chief executive officer of H Al Dhaen Boats, in the presence of representatives of both companies.

Captain Al Murbati said: "The new boat commissioned will be designed in line with the latest engineering technology and will be equipped with state-of-the-art navigation equipment, ensuring high quality performance and safe maritime transport. This is a key area of focus for us at STC as the safety of our passengers always comes first."

Reflecting on the agreement, Whitmarsh added: ‘This agreement is a preliminary step in the development of an ongoing and stronger partnership with STC. We are currently reviewing a number of agreements which will hopefully be signed in the near future.’

H Al Dhaen Boats boasts a history of approximately 30 years in marine production and sales for local and international markets. Mumtalakat holds a 90 per cent stake in H Al Dhaen Boats. - TradeArabia News Service
