Kuwait 'to soon award tenders for Mubarak Port project'
KUWAIT CITY, September 5, 2018
Kuwait is in the process of awarding six tenders to execute projects related to loading and unloading cargo by 2021 – the agreed time-frame, said a report.
These tenders include that for a road project linking the port with the main road, yard for containers, administrative buildings for employees running the port, customs area, equipment handling zone and a special contract for marine dredging, reported Arab Times, citing a source close to the Ministry of Public Works.
Several major international companies have already been qualified for these projects, it stated.
In a related development, sources from the Ministry of Electricity and Water have confirmed that it was ready to supply high powered electricity network for the port within a certain period, especially since the budget for this purpose has been allocated, it added.
