Industrial growth picking up, says Bapco chief

MANAMA, February 6, 2018

The industrial sector in Bahrain is picking up and the kingdom will be quite a busy place in the years to come, said Dr Peter Bartlett, the CEO of Bapco, one of the strategic sponsors of the Gulf Industry Fair 2018.

The national oil company of Bahrain is one of the key pillars for the industrial growth of the kingdom and has been a long-standing participant at GIF, taking part in all editions of the fair.

“There is an awful lot of infrastructure and related projects which have started to happen as part of Vision 2030 and I can see and feel the pressure in the marketplace as I deal with some of the players as Alba advances its Line 6 investment," stated Dr Bartlett.

“We are on the cusp of continuing to move forward with the Bapco Modernisation Program and the  roadworks you see out there are all tapping the same support community as these investments kick in. Bahrain is going to be quite a busy place in the years ahead,” he added.

As one of the main energy providers and economic drivers, Bapco’s association with GIF highlights the value it places on the co-existent relationship between energy and industrial development, said the top official.

“We represent Bahrain's energy sector. The goal is to advance the agenda of industrial development of not only Bahrain but also the wider GCC at this fair,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
