Alba licensed to provide IOSH’s safety course

MANAMA, October 15, 2017

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the Bahrain-based international aluminium smelter, said it has been appointed as an approved and licensed training provider for the course ‘Managing Safely’ by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), UK.
 
The course by IOSH is designed to provide managers and supervisors the knowledge and tools required to manage their business environment safely, said a statement from the company.
 
Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray said: “We are proud to be endorsed by IOSH, which is a globally renowned institution in occupational safety and health.”

“This certification will enable us to apply good industry practices in line with Alba’s 2017 expectation of Safety Tomorrowland, leading to better productivity,” he said.

“I commend our safety, health and environment team on this milestone that will elevate our company’s safety culture,” he added.

Alba is well-known as one of the top industrial companies in the Region with a strong safety culture.
