Alba official receives RoSPA award

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter in Bahrain, revealed that its safety, health and environment (SHE) senior manager Moh’d Khalil has been honoured with The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) 2017 Guardian Angel Award.
Khalil was presented with the award for his exceptional commitment and contribution towards the safety and health of Alba employees, said a statement from the company.
Khalil joined Alba in 1997 as a security officer. His innovative ideas and commitment to safety led to his promotion as the fire engineer followed by fire chief in 2013. He was made manager - SHE, Fire and Security Department in 2016 and in the same year, was promoted to senior manager, it said.
He has constantly endeavoured to cultivate a culture of safety for employees and contractors alike. He is commended for successfully streamlining Alba’s health and safety procedures to achieve higher levels of efficiency as well as introducing surprise safety visits in all areas of the company, added the statement.
Khalil will be presented with his RoSPA Guardian Angel Award at a ceremony at ExCeL London on June 20, it said.
Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray, said: “Khalil deserves the award for his tireless efforts towards setting high standards in safety.”
“His ownership for safety is remarkable and has set an example on taking ‘Safety into Tomorrowland’,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
