800-strong media contingent for Idex, Navdex
ABU DHABI, January 24, 2017
More than 800 media representatives from around the world will cover the upcoming editions of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex 2017) and Naval Defence Exhibition (Navdex 2017), it was revealed by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec).
Organised in collaboration with the UAE Armed Forces under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, Idex and Navdex will run at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from February 19 to 23.
The strong media presence reinforces the status of both exhibitions as leading international defence events, said a Wam news agency report.
Saeed bin Khadim Al Mansouri, director of Idex and Navdex 2017, said: "As part of our efforts to upgrade facilities in line with the continued growth of the specialised exhibitions and conferences sector in Abu Dhabi, we have set up a permanent media centre at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre to host press briefings for the events held here. Given the crucial role the media plays in promoting Abu Dhabi’s business tourism sector, it is our priority to simplify their task through providing seamless access to state-of-the-art facilities."
He added: "With the capacity to accommodate hundreds of journalists at the same time, our media centre is fitted out with high-speed internet as well as the latest computer and office equipment. In addition to dedicated areas for conducting interviews, we have designated a hall for live broadcasts of press conferences, equipped with cutting-edge audio and video facilities. Exhibitors can use the hall free of charge to announce important agreements and business deals signed during Idex and Navdex 2017."
In addition, Adnec has appointed an Idex Media Committee to deal with representatives of the media and help them reach out to the official spokespersons of the exhibitors, visiting delegations and VIPs. The committee, in collaboration with the National Media Council, NMC, will also coordinate with local media regarding all matters related to registration for the events. - TradeArabia News Service
