Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter, said it is holding post-Iftar safety visits across its plant aimed at boosting safety during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

Led by the management team, these visits are conducted mainly in the operational and hot work areas to help improve safety awareness amongst the workers on heat stress exhaustion as well as staying healthy during Ramadan, said a statement from Alba.

The post-Iftar visits will continue throughout the month of Ramadan, it said.

Alba recently launched its plant-wide safety, health and environment (SHE) Summer Safety Campaign ‘Safety Convoy’ that focused on all aspects of heat stress, heat exhaustion and challenges caused by the hot weather, it added.

Alba’s chief financial officer, Ali Al Baqali, said: “The Holy Month is a challenging time, especially for those who are fasting and working outdoors or in physically demanding jobs.”

“As management, we believe in taking extra efforts to support and appreciate our co-workers. Through the post-Iftar safety visits, we are able to boost the workers’ morale as well as help them to stay focused on the company’s safety objectives,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
