Cimic enters mining equipment hire business

Cimic Group, one of the world's leading international contractors, has announced its foray into the mining equipment hire business in Australia with launch of its new company FleetCo.

As a Cimic Group company, FeetCo offers the dual benefit of a new service and an established, proven team, said a statement from the group.

FleetCo’s range of services includes flexible equipment contracts and comprehensive, tailored maintenance support.

With an extensive mining fleet supporting up to ultra class requirements, FleetCo’s size and depth of experience enables it to offer competitive rates, quality equipment, reliable supply and industry-leading maintenance support, it added.

Speaking at the launch, Cimic executive chairman and chief executive Marcelino Fernández Verdes said: “FleetCo uses existing business resources to provide a new and flexible service to clients that is well suited to today’s market.”

Cimic operates in 20 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Southern Africa, South America, and throughout Australia and New Zealand. The group is comprised of four core businesses, each with their own brand and focus:
*Thiess – a global contract miner;
*Leighton Contractors – a leading international construction contractor;
*Pacific Partnerships – a PPP manager, financing arranger, and operations and maintenance manager; and
*EIC Activites– our internal engineering and consultancy which provides specialist design, technical support and   research and technology.
