Nordic leading fuel cell company PowerCell Sweden  has won the first order for its ‘next generation’ fuel cell stack platform, the S2. 

Andreas Bodén, director of marketing and sales manager, PowerCell Sweden, said: “We are very happy that the Hannover fair gained good attraction to the new stack platform and resulted in our first sale of the S2 platform.”

PowerCell Sweden launched the next-generation fuel cell stack platform, S2, at the Hannover Fair in April this year, which gained great interest from the industry, he said.

A German company has ordered two fuel cell stacks of the S2 platform of 25 kW each. The fuel cell stacks will be delivered in August and September, said a statement.

“We are very happy that the Hannover fair gained good attraction to the new stack platform and resulted in our first sale of stacks from the S2 platform. To get the S2 fuel cell stack platform into production and start to sell it is also one of the main goals for PowerCell Sweden this year,” said Bodén.

The S2 platform complements the company’s first generation fuel cell stack, the S1 (1-5 kW), as it covers a larger power range from 5 kW up to 25 kW, still with the same tolerance towards CO and reformate gas as S1.  Another feature is the capability for extensive starts and stops. - TradeArabia News Service
