Intertek unveils big Saudi Transtec plans

DAMMAM, December 7, 2014

Intertek, a leading quality solutions provider, will present ways to minimize unseen corporate risk from the supply chain across different industry sectors at an upcoming logistics exhibition in Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

The fifth International Saudi Transtec 2014 Exhibition and Conference will take place from December 8 to 10.

The event showcases the new developments within Saudi Arabia’s transport and logistics industry, explores supply chain challenges and shares new process solutions and improvements.

Dr Andrew Swift, senior vice president, will be describing ways to minimize unseen corporate risk from the supply chain across different industry sectors using tools such as Intertek’s own global supplier management (GSM) system.

“Intertek understands the difficulties that global companies face in firstly identifying and then validating the credentials of all of their suppliers when assessing risk within their supply chain,” said Dr Swift.

“The frequency and level of disruption depends upon an array of factors including; a supplier’s financial credentials, manufacturing quality, safety, and security, as well as its sustainability and social responsibility. Intertek’s GSM is one web-based platform, which enables companies to efficiently and effectively evaluate their supplier’s performance verified supplier data in the areas most critical to their business.”

Increasing Corporate standards for better risk management, compliance and product traceability are driving the need for higher-quality information management and supply chain transparency. GSM provides cost-effective supplier management enabling companies to quickly and easily find the key information required to reduce supply chain risk, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
