Asry showcases services at top European expo
Manama, June 9, 2014
Asry, a leading ship and rig repair yard in the Gulf, showcased its products and services at one of the world's leading shipping exhibitions, Posidonia, in Athens, boosting its commercial presence in one of the globe's main shipping hubs.
"Posidonia is a strategic focal point for many of our European customers, especially Greek ship owners," Asry chief executive Nils Kristian Berge was quoted as saying in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
"Historically, the Greek market has been an important part of our ship repair revenues stream, and the show is an ideal platform to make personal contact with those clients, as well as raise awareness of Asry in the continental market," he noted.
Posidonia has grown on the back of a market upswing, with this year's edition seeing record attendance to the 1,870 exhibitors from 93 countries.
Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaris highlighted the importance of the show with a keynote speech and personal tour of the exhibition, including the Asry stand.
