Alba names new Sabic board member

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has announced the appointment of Dr Talaat Dafer Abdulla Aldafer Alqahtani - representing Sabic Industrial Investments Company (Sabic) - to its board of directors.
Dr Alqahtani's appointment comes following the resignation of Homood Abdulla Al Tuwaijri (who represented Sabic) from the board, said a statement from Alba on Tuesday.
Commenting on the new appointment, Alba’s chairman of the board, Mahmood Hashim Al-Kooheji said, "I congratulate Dr Alqahtani on being appointed by Sabic as one of their representatives on the Alba board. He brings with him considerable experience and exposure to regional business dynamics, and we are confident that Alba will benefit richly from his contribution."
"We wish him every success and welcome him as a member of Alba’s Board," he added.
Dr Alqahtani is currently vice president for Corporate Strategy and Planning (Saudi Arabia and Mena region) at Sabic. He is also a consultant to Saudi Arabian Minister of Commerce & Industry since 2007.
His professional experience has encompassed both the public and private sector in a senior capacity.
Dr Alqahtani has received a PhD in Quality Management from the Arabian Academy for Sciences, Technology & Maritime Transport, Alexandria, Egypt.
He also obtained his Masters degree in Information Studies from the Loughborough University of Technology, United Kingdom.-TradeArabia News Service
