Al Khaleej Sugar receives top award

Dubai, April 5, 2012

Leading sugar refinery, Al Khaleej Sugar, has been awarded the ‘Dubai Quality Award’ at the Business Excellence Award ceremony held at the Dubai World Trade Centre yesterday.

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presented the award to the managing director of Al Khaleej Sugar, Jamal Al Ghurair.

“This award testifies that in addition to producing a high-quality product, our corporate core values of teamwork, respect, sustainable development and transparent communication that allow our company to continuously elevate our standard of excellence and exceed customers’ expectations,” Al Ghurair said.

In 2001, Al Khaleej won the ‘Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme’ and received its first ‘Dubai Quality Award’ in 2006.

The company has also won additional awards including the ‘Jebel Ali Free Zone Authority Award for Corporate Social Responsibility’ in 2006 and the ‘Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Excellence Award’ for manufacturing sector in 2008.

With a current production capacity of 6,000 tonnes of refined white sugar per day, Al Khaleej Sugar recently announced plans to increase its production capacity of refined white sugar to 7,000 tonnes per day by the end of 2012.

The company currently exports its products to over 40 countries and employs nearly 800 workers and staff. – TradeArabia News Service
