DP World receives 3 new cranes

Dubai, September 2, 2009

DP World, a Dubai-based leading global marine terminal operator, has received at its Jeddah South Container Terminal (JSCT) three new Super Post Panamax cranes.

The cranes are capable of handling Super Post Panamax vessels, which carry 22 containers or more across their width and are therefore too large to travel through the Panama Canal.

The state of the art cranes are designed to lift 65 tonnes each and were manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry of China.

The addition of these cranes to DP World Jeddah’s seven berths will increase productivity and efficiency at the port, significantly improving vessel turnaround time for customers. – TradeArabia News Service
