Dubai Courts inks automated car-park deal

Dubai Courts has signed a contract for the development of the world’s largest automated car-park facility within its premises, the first project announced under Dubai’s public-private partnership (PPP) law introduced in November by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said a report.
The deal was awarded to Park Line, a joint venture between Next Generation Parking (NGP), a KBW Investments company, and ITNL Infrastructure Developers, a subsidiary of IL&FS Transportation Networks (ITNL), India, reported Emirates24/7.
NGP is a leading innovator, manufacturer and solution provider of hitech robotic parking systems, while ITNL is the road development arm of infrastructure developer and financier, Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS).
The Dubai Supreme Court complex, having a built-up area of 55,742 sq m, will include development of a new Supreme Court building, covering 4,420 sq m that will house over 50 Supreme Court judges, 18,600 sq m of office space and 3,154 sq m of retail space, stated the report.
The project, proposed to be located on part of the existing court’s premises, is scheduled for completion in 30 months, it added.
