EC Harris, an Arcadis company and global built asset consultancy, has announced the successful completion of the Vox Cinemas at the Yas Mall, the flagship retail development of Aldar properties in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Under the Dh57-million ($15.5 million) contract, EC Harris had provided project management including health and safety services and cost management across all 20 screen cinemas for Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas.

“We are proud to have been the project manager and quantity surveyor for the biggest cinema in Abu Dhabi,” remarked Stewart Cash, partner at EC Harris.

“This world-class cinema adds a new and innovative experience to movie watching, which residents and visitors are able to enjoy during opening weekend in line with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race.”

Vox Cinemas introduced the 4DX concept, which features a range of ambiences - motion chairs, rain, wind and scent - synchronised with on-screen action, two Vox Max screens including one at 23.5 m and three luxury Vox Gold cinemas inclusive of reclining chairs, a gourmet menu and waiter service.
